VM Elevators at the London Stadium: Supporting Premier League Football in Motion

On 2 November 2025, Newcastle United arrived at the London Stadium for their Premier League fixture and VM Elevators were right there amongst the action.

As the London Stadium’s official lift maintenance contractor, VM Elevators provided essential vertical transportation support throughout the venue on matchday. Our engineers ensure the lifts and escalators across the stadium operate at optimum performance, delivering safe, consistent and efficient access for thousands of spectators from concourse levels to hospitality suites, media floors and upper tier seating.

Alongside this critical operations role, VM Elevators was also represented as a proud London Stadium Associate Partner. Being part of this Associate Partnership reflects our ongoing commitment to supporting one of London’s most recognised sporting venues and contributes to our wider connection within the capital’s sporting community.

With a full-capacity crowd in attendance, the reliance on vertical transportation infrastructure is immense. From gate opening, through the high-traffic halftime surge, to the atmospheric full-time exit, VM Elevators were behind the scenes ensuring movement remained seamless. Our lift and escalator maintenance is active, responsive and continuous throughout matchday, supporting stadium operations from start to finish.

The images captured during the game highlight not only the energy in the stadium but also showcase our involvement and pride in being an Associate Partner to the London Stadium. This partnership reinforces the role VM Elevators plays in supporting major live events across London, where reliability, safety and performance truly matter.

VM Elevators Achieves Constructionline Gold and CHAS Elite Accreditation Amid Strengthened Building Safety Standards

VM Elevators is proud to announce the successful renewal and achievement of both Constructionline Gold and CHAS Elite accreditations, two of the UK’s most rigorous assessments of health, safety, environmental, and quality management within the construction industry.

While both certifications mark an important milestone, Constructionline Gold represents a particularly significant achievement for VM Elevators this year, reflecting the company’s unwavering commitment to compliance, safety, and transparency across every level of its operations.

Raising the Bar with Constructionline Gold

Constructionline Gold accreditation demonstrates that VM Elevators not only meets but exceeds pre-qualification requirements demanded by many public and private sector clients. The Gold standard verifies our alignment with the PAS 91 pre-qualification framework and confirms compliance across areas including:

  • Quality Management (ISO 9001)
  • Environmental Management (ISO 14001)
  • Health & Safety (ISO 45001)
  • Equal Opportunities and Modern Slavery prevention
  • Financial and professional standing

This year’s accreditation process included the new Building Safety and Fire Compliance questions, introduced by Constructionline, CHAS, and SafeContractor to ensure suppliers meet the latest expectations under the Building Safety Act 2022 and associated regulations.

Stronger Standards Following Grenfell

The introduction of these new compliance questions reflects a sector-wide tightening of accountability following the tragic Grenfell Tower fire in 2017, which exposed serious failings in building design, product traceability, and safety management.

In response, the UK Government introduced the Building Safety Act to embed a “Golden Thread of information” — a continuous record of safety-critical details that must be maintained throughout the lifecycle of a building.

As a lift company operating within residential, commercial, and public-sector environments, VM Elevators plays a vital role in supporting this Golden Thread. Our systems ensure full traceability of lift installations, modernisations, and maintenance records, including essential safety components such as overspeed governors, buffers, and fire-rated doors.

Fire Lifts and Life-Safety Systems

Lift safety is an integral part of a building’s fire-protection strategy. Firefighting lifts and evacuation lifts must be designed, installed, and maintained to perform reliably under emergency conditions. VM Elevators’ engineers are trained to the highest standards, ensuring that these life-safety systems remain compliant with BS EN 81-72, BS EN 81-73, and related British Standards.

Through continuous staff training, rigorous risk assessments, and our integrated management system, VM Elevators supports clients in maintaining safe, compliant, and accessible vertical transport systems within their buildings.

A Continued Commitment to Compliance

By securing both Constructionline Gold and CHAS Elite, VM Elevators has reaffirmed its place as a trusted, accredited partner to the UK’s leading contractors, facilities managers, and public-sector organisations.

These accreditations demonstrate that our operations are not only compliant with the highest industry standards but also proactive in embracing new regulations designed to make buildings safer for all.
