The City of Stories, where creativity is celebrated, the city plays host to one of the country’s oldest cultural gatherings – the Norforlk & Norwich festival and 2022 marks its 250^th anniversary.  It is also England’s first UNESCO City of Literature. It is said that the first book Revelations of Divine Love written in English by a woman Julian of Norwich was penned here in 1342-1416, there is a bridge in the city named after her called the Lady Julian Bridge. Norwich Cathedral has the second tallest spire in England measuring 315ft (96m) in height, during the Middle Ages there were 58 listed churches withing the city walls and it was once claimed that Norwich had a church for every Sunday – in addition to this Norwich once had a pub for every day of the year, boasting as many as 600 in the 19^th Century with estimated 130 still in existence to date. Norwich Market in the city centre famed for its 189 colourful stalls – is the largest open air market in the country and has been operating on its current site for over 900 years.  Historically Norwich prospered from the lucractive wool trade, but it was also the birthplace of the modern postcode, after a successful trial run in this city, the postal code system that we use today was introduced … and if that’s not enough to wet your appetite –  if you are fan of tea- then Norwich Castle– has the largest collection of British ceramic teapots in the country.
