VM Elevators Ltd. Have been servicing lifts for various companies within the Smithfield meat Market since 2015 and have recently secured the lift modernisations for 3 companies within this complex.
All 3 modernisations were very similar consisting of the following:
- New control panel
- New gear unit
- New gear raft
- New hoist ropes
- New guarding
- Replace broken rope safety device with overspeed governor
- Full installation rewire
- Replacement of car operating panel and landing push stations
Working within these motor rooms was very challenging due to the minimal headroom available.
