The town houses some extraordinary parks, Cassiobury Park is a fine example, consisting of 190 acres of open space and winning a Green Flag Award, an award which recognizes the best green spaces in the country. Watford also homes 92 nationally listed buildings, some notable ones include St Mary’s Church, dating back to the 12^th Century and Holy Rood Church to 1890. A place of interested is Watford Palace Theatre which opened its doors in 1908 and is the only producing theatre in Hertfordshire, presenting a traditional pantomime annually, world premieres, along with numerous other shows. Paying homage to the town’s past, Watford Museum is located inside a former brewery building and exhibits a vast collection of fine art, sculptures and an enviable archive of documents and photographs related to Watford townsfolk. The Herefordshire Fire Museum, based at Watford Fire Station,  is a dedicated space honouring the history of firefighting in the county and showcases a wide range of equipment, vehicles and material from the archive.
