Chichester Business Park – Chichester

Commercial Lifts - Lift and Escalator Repair and Maintenance London UK

Recently, a lift installation job was completed at Chichester Business Park, where a Schindler MRL lift was replaced with a ‘One Lift’ product.

This upgrade not only improves the functionality and reliability of the lift, but also brings a significant increase in sustainability.

Here at VM Elevators we are committed to sustainability and using environmentally friendly products. The new lift installed at Chichester Business Park is no exception, as it features energy-efficient technology such as LED lighting and a regenerative drive system. These features not only reduce the lift’s carbon footprint, but also lower energy costs for the building’s management and occupants.

Another important aspect of the lift’s sustainability is its durability and longevity. The new product is designed with high-quality materials and advanced engineering, ensuring a longer lifespan and reducing the need for frequent repairs and replacements. This not only benefits the environment by reducing waste, but also saves money in the long run for the building’s management.

In addition to the lift’s sustainability features, the installation process was also carried out with environmental considerations in mind. The team responsible for the installation ensured that all waste materials were properly disposed of and recycled where possible.

The lift installation at Chichester Business Park is an example of how upgrading to a more sustainable product can bring multiple benefits. Not only does it improve the functionality and reliability of the lift, but it also reduces the environmental impact and saves money in the long run.

The lift was handed over at the end of July 2022 and the client was very happy with our work and the end result.

NHS Eascote Health Centre – London

Private Residential Building Lifts - Lift and Escalator Repair and Maintenance London UK

We are thrilled to announce that we are currently in the process of carrying out a full lift replacement with our ‘One Lift ‘product for the NHS Eastcote Health Centre. As with all NHS projects there are stringent guide lines that must be adhered to, also the building is a fully functional Health Centre so additional vigilance is required when it comes to noise & movement of materials throughout the building.

Over the years, VM Elevators has sustained a very positive and successful relationship within the public sector across Greater London, the home counties and major UK cities.

We have a long-standing relationship with the Trust – in 2021, we completed a full control system upgrade at the NHS centre in Holloway Rd, North London and are honoured to be providing our services again moving forward in 2022 as the nominated lift maintenance contractors for their North London, Whittington Hospital sites.

Over recent times we have all become acutely aware of the importance of all elements of the NHS teams – a small contribution that we at VM Elevators hope to achieve is a significant increase in the service and reliability of the vertical transportation needs of this important London based facility and to ensure the needs of their patients are never compromised by a lack of efficient floor to floor lift transportation.

The National Grid Substation, Sellindge

Nation Grid Sub Station Sellindge e

VM Elevators Ltd are proud to announce that they have been appointed as the contractors for the new Lift installation project at the National Grid’s substation in Sellindge, Kent.

From receipt of instruction to handover, VM will supply and fit a ‘One Lift’ solution.  Adhering to tight deadlines, with production and labour confirmed, VM have accelerated works – and will complete the job within an outstanding time frame of just 9 weeks, a turnaround which is monumental and unheard of within the Lift industry.

The National Grid have also selected Murphy’s building company to rebuild the lift shaft due to  the current destruction of the existing one as a result of the fire that emerged at the  National Grid interconnector France-Anglettere electrical base in September 2021, leaving the substation severely damaged and in need of extensive repair work in order to return it to service.

The interconnector which has been in operation since 1986, is fundamental to Britain importing and exporting electricity with European countries inc. France, Belgium, Ireland, Denmark and the Netherlands, all of which have played an instrumental role in assisting to balance electricity in recent years, a move away from fossil fuel generation leaning towards more weather dependent means like offshore wind.

The subsea cable which runs under the English Channel was subsequently damaged, meaning there was no power link between the UK and France, which remained off from September 25 2021 and was only able to function at half of its two gigawatt capacity since March 2022.

‘VM Elevators is thrilled to be the chosen Lift service provider. We understand the scale of the job and the impact on livelihoods and businesses like Eurostar that incurred as an aftermath of the fire. We look forward to playing our role in returning the National Grid’s Sellindge substation to its full operational functionality.’ CEO Simon Whitbread
