What Are We Looking For?

VM Elevators Ltd is currently seeking an experienced Lift Repair Engineer (NVQ3 or equivalent) to manage a portfolio of units across London and the surrounding area.

As a qualified Repair Lift engineer, you will be expected to:

  • Executing repairs within VM Elevators’ assets, ensuring strict compliance with relevant codes and legal obligations.
  • Working in a safe manner, following EH&S guidelines, including method statements and the employee safety handbook.
  • Upholding safety standards and prioritising a safe working environment.
  • Accurately identifying faults and completing essential repairs.
  • Ensuring efficiency by utilising optimal tools and methods, aligning repair hours with Company-identified targets.
  • Taking charge of planning and completing assigned repair jobs, demonstrate proficiency in fault diagnosis and the establishment of maintenance procedures.
  • Adhering to all Company Policies and Procedures.
  • Demonstrating full compliance with Environmental Health and Safety procedures.
  • Completing routine safety modules.
  • Adhering to Quality, Environmental Health, and Safety directives, encompassing PPE, Accident Reporting, Cardinal Rules, RAMS, and ACE.
  • Ensure proper maintenance of all equipment.
  • Conduct quality inspections on repair jobs.
  • Repair or replace defective components.
  • Install new machinery or equipment.
  • Keep detailed records of faults and repairs.
  • Maintain machinery in optimal condition.
  • Plan and execute scheduled tasks in co-ordination with the Service Manager.
  • Supervise engineers on site (where applicable).
  • A strong understanding of roping procedures is ideal.
  • Proactively managing and controlling repair tasks, this includes taking responsibility for sourcing parts and retrieving PO numbers from the VM Elevators Service team.Top of Form

To Be Successful in This Role, You Will:

  • Be qualified to at least NVQ Level 3, J-Module, or an equivalent certification.
  • Have industry experience or a strong willingness to learn and progress through the NVQ3 qualification.
  • Be EOR/202 Basic Lift Safety certified
  • Be DBS verified / willing to undergo routine DBS checks.
  • Other Health & Safety Awareness accreditation are a plus i.e. Asbestos Awareness, Environmental Awareness, Manual Handling, Lifting & Slinging, Abrasive Wheels.
  • Possess in-depth knowledge of various makes and types of equipment, including goods and platform lifts, scissor lifts, and hydraulics.
  • Possess in-depth knowledge of various equipment models, showcasing the ability to apply lift engineering principles for continuous lift operation.
  • Demonstrate the application of lift engineering principles to maintenance and fault diagnosis.
  • Be available to work occasional weekends if required.
  • Be DBS verified / willing to undergo routine DBS checks.
